Phuket has many fine restaurants that cater hi-end tastes or typical mom and pop type establishments. Phuket also has its own cuisine style influenced by the Hokkien Chinese that migrated from Malaysia. This fare includes spicy hotcakes, fish patties, along with lobsters and prawns. Different kinds of noodles such as Mi Hokkian, Mi Hun, and Mi Sapan are some of the unique noodle dishes found around here. Phuket Beach has a tropical climate with two seasons, which is wet and dry monsoon climate with an average temperatures ranging from 23ºC to 33ºC.
There are many places to explore around the area. Travelers can rent motorcycles and meander around the inland forest hilly terrain, or walk along the numerous scattered side streets (sois) extending from the central part of town in all directions. Karon Beach is located only 10 minutes by vehicle from Patong Beach. If travelers would like to have a little excitement and return to a quieter atmosphere, Karon Beach is ideal. The central part of Karon Beach is in the north at Karon Circle. For history buffs, there are statues here of Thailand’s mining and agricultural heroes, which add to the ambiance of the area.
